True, don’t waste money on these. I used them from their introduction back in the late sixties for about 2 years. They didn’t stay in tune, the E and G strings broke almost every night on my gigs, the D sting would come unwound and wrap around the neck ( real pain in the neck). I went through all the brands for a while, you get what you pay for. Instead, I ended up using 2 brands, one for the electrics and one for the acoustic, and after about 40 years I stared using just one brand for both, still use them after 55 years of playing. I use only Elixir strings on both.

John that would be awesome if you could make the same job with the new env filter on the FM9. Try to get same sound as yours here with the QC but didn't manage to get so close...

Is it possible to get a two amp profile like this for the kemper? I’d buy that in a heartbeat

The PRS sounded more hi-fi and kind of harsh. The Lollars and Fralins sounded better for both clean and drive plus had more of a vintage warmth. Fralins had the most balance and their midrange was the best. PRS had the most scooped tons, but it lacked character. Strange that other pickups have a better Mayer tone than the PRS, but I’m sure there are other factors.

Sorry if this has been asked and answered before 😅 Would love to install the free version of tonex just to be able to load these! Along with the Two Rock pack, that's about 20 captures; could I be able to load those into Tonex CS, or would I need Tonex Max to do so? Love the tones and your playing is awesome!

Hey, unrelated question. In your opinion, which one is best in emulating the Mayer tones? Kemper, Helix, Axe or QC?

thicker gauge than regular 10s on a strat... unless you tune down it's gonna be a stiff set for most of the people 🤔

So the 3 high strings are 0.5 thicker and the 3 low strings are 1 thicker than in a usual 10-46 set. I wouldn't expect this to make a significant difference, at least on the low strings... Clever marketing move of course!
